The voice is an extension of your body and breath. While inhibition and self-censoring can block your energy, singing can move your essence to flow and be shared with the world. Creative vocalizations can move the energy of the body mind into deeper states of meditation and used as a powerful tool of self-awareness and transformation.
As singing connects us with our breath, body and life force, it also connects us with others – a practice that shares our divine spark with community, leading to a deeper sense of recognition and intimacy with others. Founded in basic singing technique, expressive arts therapy theory, kundalini, hatha and nada yogas, Authentic Voicework™ is the “Yoga of the voice”, guiding you through the process of connecting you with your own voice as an energetic form in motion.

Nāda yoga is an ancient Indian metaphysical and philosophical system based on the premise that the entire cosmos and all that exists in the cosmos, including human beings, consists of vibrations, called nāda. This concept holds that it is the energy of vibrations rather than of matter and particles which form the building blocks of the cosmos.
Nāda yoga is a reverential way of approaching and responding to these cosmic vibrations. Silent vibrations of the self (anhata), and sound and music (ahata) are considered to play a potential intermediary role in achieving a deeper unity with both the outer and inner cosmos.
Nāda yoga’s use of sound and resonances are employed to raise the level of awareness of the chakras. The anahata chakra (heart) is considered responsible for receiving / perceiving internal/inner music. In raising awareness of this particular chakra, we increase awareness of our inner music, or what I call the ‘music of our authentic self.’
